Abstract
Brak. Usually, a person's sex is assessed by X-rays. The use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for this purpose would broaden the diagnostic possibilities and would also eliminate the need to expose the patient to ionizing radiation, making the examination less invasive. The aim of the study is to verify the hypothesis that the texture of the wrist MRI image contains information about the patient's sex. To do this, one needs to mark areas of interest (ROIs) covering the wrist in MRI images of volunteers. Texture features for these ROIs should then be determined. The final stage involves the use of classification methods to determine how accurately the selected texture parameters allow determining the sex of the test person.
